Cranberry Orange Almond Shortbread

Ingredients
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup Diamond of California® Slivered Almonds
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
The Steps
- Preheat the oven to 325 and grease a 7 inch tart pan with a removable bottom.
- Combine the butter, sugar, orange zest and almond extract in a mixing bowl and mix for 2 minutes.
- Add the flour and salt, mix until just combined.
- Stir in the almonds and cranberries.
- Press the dough into the prepared pan in an even layer. Use a fork to poke several holes.
- Bake for 20 minutes then cool completely.
- Cut into slices before serving.
