Tomatoes, tomatoes and more tomatoes! That’s what I’m eating this month. From fresh heirloom salads to blistered cherry tomatoes, I’ll take them any way I can get them! Late summer is also a great time to buy blackberries and blueberries. Their presence in the produce aisle is a sign that it’s time to bid farewell to summer fruit and anticipate the arrival of fall apples and pears!
Here are a few of the fresh ingredients I’ll be using this month:
Herbs
It’s time to ramp up your snack-game for football season! Use fresh sage in this Gorgonzola and Walnut Dip to please a hungry crowd.
Tomatoes
Use any type of tomato that is local in your area for this salad – you can’t go wrong, especially when they are paired with creamy goat cheese and crunchy pine nuts.
Berries
Fresh blackberries and blueberries are a delicious addition to this Yogurt Breakfast Parfait. Added bonus – it comes together in just minutes with a sprinkle of Shake & Spoon™ Chopped Pecans on top!
